Ideation and Design Process

The Problem

Sports of all kinds have been integrated into cultures all around the world for centuries. As a Chelsea FC fan for nearly two decades now, living in Vancouver and watching Football in a bar or restaurant with other Chelsea FC fans was never a reality.

Unless you're cheering for the Vancouver Canucks (Go Canucks Go!), you're highly unlikely to find others who follow the same sports teams as you to watch games with. Having experienced the unity and observed the illustrious sports cultures in a variety of countries and continents around the world, an idea popped into my head. That idea, is SportsCircle.

The Idea

Many app's use the location feature to be able to determine their users wherabouts, and depending on the app and tracking system, their habits and behaviours. For my idea to work, being able to set a location in order to determine areas near the user that are available was the main feature that was needed.I began with creating a user scenario, hand-drawn low-fi wireframes, followed by a flowchart for the sig-up process of SportsCircle.

Once the hand-drawn, low fidelity wireframes were created, the designs were then brought into Adobe XD and turned into high fidelity wireframes, and then prototypes. With the prototype, the user was able to go through the process of creating an account, to replicate the steps a user would go through once the app has been fully developed.
